A jaunt to Florence to be revitalized

My trip to Florence last week was so brief that I didn’t find the time to write about it. I arrived last Monday evening to the clear blue skies of Florence and returned to a snowy Paris on Saturday. I spent all my free time soaking up my beloved city and catching up with my friends. It’s only now that I realize how vital my trips to Florence are for me. The time I spend there is both intense and relaxing.

Now that I am spending more time in Paris these days, I still need to find balance between two cities. I have moved in with my beau in Paris and yet still keep my own place in Florence. I can’t imagine not returning often to Florence because it is still the place where my heart and soul recharge themselves. It’s almost as if when I am in Paris, I get depleted and during my stays in Florence, I am filled back up again.

Florence used to just be my home, but now it has become my place of revitalization. It is where I feel nurtured. It’s the city where I can put my feet up, toss my head back, and let out a big sigh. My trips to Florence are better than a vacation: I can just relax, be alone with my thoughts, and bask in my beloved city.

Even though I only spent a few days in Florence, I feel recharged and revitalized. When I am home in my beloved city I continue to work; however, I am on my own time schedule and can take breaks so that I can catch the sun rise and/or set, admire the shimmering water in the Arno, or walk to a specific part of town just to visit it.

I am definitely happier now than I have ever been, but instead of writing about it, I feel as if it’s time for me to live my life to its fullest. Many of my friends ask me if I will move permanently to Paris, but I don’t have an answer and honestly I don’t want to decide. I am in love and happy, and I am living in my two favorite cities. The balance will come, but in the meantime, I am enjoying my time in both cities while that balance comes naturally.
